ALIVE MUSIC ORCHESTRA BEGINNINGS
The Alive Music Orchestra organization began 1980 as a small dixieland jazz band,
formed by local Music Director Keith Stout. In the early 80's Keith Stout and his
associates began to envision a big band dedicated to the expression of American
Jazz Music, Gospel, Pop & Folk, educating the public about America's Jazz and
it's original roots from the Southern Black Churches, which resulted in the
discovery and development of Jazz in New Orleans
MUSIC OUTREACH
Their mission and outreach jazz ministry has provided music clinics for inspiring
young music students at local Public Schools, and private Christian Schools. They
have been instrumental in achieving this mission through the Vaca Jazz Society's
"Save Our Music" message during the Vacaville Jazz Festival annually in
September. AMO's outreach has been supporting Youth Camps and Clinics for
North Bay Area children, developing partnerships with the Solano County Library
and many local businesses.
